Have you ever been asked to do something you really didn’t want to do? Maybe your teacher asked you to try a difficult homework assignment, your parents asked you to do more chores, or your coach asked you to run extra laps at practice. Even though you probably groaned your way through it, you still did what was asked because you knew it was the right thing to do. They weren’t asking you to do those things to hurt you—in fact, they were asking you to do them to help you. That’s exactly what it’s like with God sometimes. He gives us instructions that we don’t always understand or want to follow, but we know in the end He’s asking us to do it not to make us miserable, but to make us better. What’s one area where it’s hard for you to trust God’s commands? Ask Him to remind you that He made you and loves you and wants you to follow Him.
